MACRO
There are special Lenses made to undertake this type of work but they can be quite expensive to buy, or you can use a much cheaper Prime lens. My initial setup for these images was a Nikon 50mm 1.8mm Prime lens, Extension Tubes and a Reversing Ring. Extension Tubes usually come in sets of three different strengths and have no glass, they fit between the Camera body and the lens. The Reversing Ring enables you to turn the Lens around and attach it to the Camera (or in this case the extension rings). Doing this causes the lens to magnify everything much closer than if you were using it normally. The further you move the lens from the Camera body the closer your subject appears. In 2017 I had the funds available to purchase a Sigma 105mm f2.8 Macro Lens, this is an excellent Lens and now the one I use for all my Macro shots including my "Inch High Life" Miniature Figures.
